A Distinguished Friendship

I still remember the first time we met,
Sitting by a friend, lovely and quiet,
Something about you caught my heart,
Your friendship I wanted to take part.
Your intellect, beauty, humor, style,
Your gentle touch and your warm smile,
All of which cannot be rivaled,
And your music and singing so marveled!
Nervousness abound when I'm around you,
Feelings buried when they shown through,
Only to return stronger than before,
À vous, j'ai révélé mon amour.
Only to be riddled with mistakes I've made,
Wishing for a second chance I prayed,
But then I grew fearful, afraid,
hoping our friendship has not been frayed.
You are most important to me,
And so I shall always be,
A friend,
Your friend,
In hopes that you will still be mine.
