Eagle Memoirs
A new hatchling, fresh to the world,
An ancient world it now does grace,
New adventures wryly unfurled,
Attempts to find it's rightful place.

From it's home, the eagle takes flight,
New beginnings to be explored,
A flock, a new flock to unite,
Ice unbroke, heart and soul abhorred.

Wandered spirit, peerless freedom,
A new flock the eagle settles,
Perches for despondent welcome,
Reserved still like loosened petals.

Lots of acquaintances gathered,
Very few actual friendships,
Nowhere to be firmly anchored,
Inner strength the eagle grips.

Solitary life eagles lead,
Open skies the eagle prefers,
Better to depart or concede,
Difficult to lean on others.

A companion the eagle spies,
Locked in love as they both tumble,
The craggy rocks their nest now lies,
A new egg begins to crumble.

A father the eagle became,
A new hatchling it adores,
For a family it can now claim,
Thus the tale of my eagle memoirs.
