A Love Story
An east coast beach bum born and raised,
Meets a midwestern gal, actively based,
Sitting in a classroom like he was dazed,
With scrutiny of the girl,
A romance began to unfurl.
He asks her out on her birthday,
As quick as lightning he whisks her away,
To dinner then brought her back to her play,
As if they were meant to be,
Brought upon by heaven's decree.
She travels to move in with him,
He did what he could to provide for them,
So that he could thwart the growing megrim,
They enjoy a stint of bliss,
Long distance introduced a twist.
Two and a half years pass them by,
So much time passed in a blink of an eye,
More time spent away than together, why?
The life of a designer,
Abducting him away from her.
Their relation was confounded,
She was his anchor that kept him grounded,
The changes she made for him compounded,
She should not have changed herself,
He should have been less of himself.
Nobody knows him like she do,
Sorry for the rough times he put her through,
He could not control some of his issues,
But he plans to change that fact,
So that their love may stay intact.
As she goes and does her own thing,
And seek out what she is really wanting,
He will wait here silently in the wing,
In hopes that she will return,
Erasing any past concerns.
